Lisa awoke from her deep sleep. Her head was throbbing with pain and her aching leg wouldnt move from the position under the seat where it layed trapped. Lisa had been knocked out for only a few minutes but it seemed a lot longer. She could feel arms wrapped around her that had tried to protect her from the fatal blow that had only happened minutes before. She kept her head laying on the love of her life that had protected her and saved her. She looked up at Ben. He looked sweet and innocent as he always did. He was dressed in her favourite his tight white top, black leather jacket and black baggy trousers. His floppy hair flopped lifelessly over his eyes that were shut tight. Then reality struck Lisa. She stared at the two passengers sitting at the front of the vehicle. To her horror there was blood running down Marks face and Becky sitting in the car seat next to him was unconscious with cuts all over her where the shattered glass had landed. She knew they needed help and quickly if they were going to survive. Lisa didnt know if they were alive or dead and she didnt want to check or think about it. Then it came to her. Bens mobile! He always carried it on him. She checked his trouser pocket and sure enough there it was. It seemed like a lost treasure that had just been discovered. She dialled 999 and told them exactly what had happened. At this point she was crying as she retold the experience that might have lost her new fiance and best friends. She ended the call on the mobile when they let her know they were on their way. While she was waiting she relived the night that had been the best night of her life and ended with the worst.
Becky shouted "Lisa have you got any lip gloss?" Lisa replied "Yes try the top drawer". Becky found it and as she applied it she said "Oh I cant believe you finally fixed us up". Lisa said "Well it didnt take much Bec, Mark was already crazy about you. Anyway Me and Ben will be there, its about time we double dated". Lisa added the finishing touches to her dress as the doorbell rang. The girls knew it was their gorgeous dates. "Anyway how do I look?" She asked Becky. "Lisa your going to blow him away you look absolutely stunning!" Lisa couldnt help but blush. "Thanks Bec you look gorgeous too. Now lets go and greet our men." Lisa opened the door to Ben standing on the doorstep. Ben just stared. Lisa said Ben. "Are you ok?" "Yes Im brilliant I just keep realising how lucky I am to have someone as lovely and gorgeous as you." Lisa could feel herself blush once again. He handed her a rose and kissed her on the cheek like the true gentleman that he always was around her. Ben and Lisa then walked hand in hand to the car. Mark handed Becky a rose and Becky sat at the front of the car as Mark drived them to the fancy restaurant where Ben had made reservations. Ben whispered to Lisa "I cant believe our two best friends are going out." "Neither can I" Lisa replied. Lisa had known Becky for a few years and Ben had also known Mark for a few years and they had become even closer when they joined their band A1. "All we need to do is fix Chris and Paul up." Lisa said to Ben. "Thats another thing I love about you, you care so much for other people" Ben said as he kissed Lisa. Mark and Becky were chatting and it was unbelievable how much they had in common.
After what seemed like a short journey they reached the restaurant and they sat at their tables. Becky and Marks table wasnt next to Lisa and Bens, as Ben loved having Lisa all to himself. Lisa and Ben had been going out for nearly two years and since then Ben had become famous in his band a1 and he had loads of attention from beautiful girls but still their relationship was as solid as a rock. They ordered their meals. Lisa hadnt seen Ben for over a month, as he had been busy with a1 doing promotion work for their new single and Lisa had been busy in college. Even though Ben rang her every single day she still missed him. After they had finished their meals Mark and Becky were still talking and they seemed to be getting along brilliantly. Ben then started talking serious to Lisa telling her how much he loved her and hated it when they were apart and he wanted to make things more permanent between them. Then Ben said to Lisa's surprise "Lisa Will you marry me?" I've never loved anyone as much as I love you. You mean the world to me." "Ben I dont know what to say this is so sudden!" Ben replied "Just say yes you would make me the happiest man alive". Ok! Yes Ben Adams I will marry you." Ben slipped a diamond ring onto her left ring finger that must have cost a fortune. Lisa was almost in tears "Ben its beautiful." Ben replied "Only the best for you. That ring is nothing compared to your beauty." They kissed. Then Lisa ran over to tell Becky and Mark the good news and flash her new diamond. Mark and Becky congratulated them. They were as surprised as Lisa had been. Mark suggested that they go home and celebrate. Ben and Lisa obviously agreed, as they wanted more time alone together. So Mark offered to drop them off at Bens flat. Lisa and Ben climbed into the back of the car with Lisa laying her head on Bens chest and his arms wrapped around her. Ben whispered to Lisa I'll never let you go. They kissed and Lisa just laid there staring up into his gorgeous dreamy blue eyes and Ben looking into hers.
The next thing they knew there was headlights coming from all angles. There was a loud crash. A car had swerved into them and knocked them off the side of the road. Becky was screaming but all Lisa could hear was Bens words repeating over and over in her head that he had told her only minutes before "I'll never let you go." She could feel Bens grip growing tighter and tighter and he was trying to shield her with his body as she could feel the car falling heavily down a bank.
"Hello? Ok were trying to get you all out just hold on." Finally the emergency services had arrived. Lisa brought herself back to the present as she tried to familiar herself with the surroundings. Lisa could see Mark and Becky being carried away on a stretcher to safety. "You ok babe?" Lisa recognised the voice straight away. Ben had woken up he was very quiet and kept slipping in and out of consciousness.
Lisa was sitting with her leg in plaster thinking about the others when a familiar face stuck his head around the door and said "Hiya babe, how are you feeling?" It was Paul one of her good friends and a member or a1 and so was Chris who was standing next to him. "Hey I heard congratulations was in order come on lets see the gem." Lisa stared at Paul as she showed him the ring. "Oh thats a beautiful ring Ben must have paid out a lot of cash on that! But your worth it Lisa." Lisa could see Paul and Chris had been crying and she could see Paul was trying to put on a brave face but he couldn't fool her that easily. She wondered what it was that had made them so upset. Lisa figured that maybe it was the news of the crash or maybe news about one of the others. Lisa asked them "Have you seen the others? How are they all? Hows Ben?" Chris replied in his sexy Norwegian accent "Yes we have seen them. Bens fine hes just hit his head badly on the roof of the car and has some head injurys but he'll be fine. Becky has severe cuts and bruises and a broken arm."Lisa said "Oh thats good news at least they will be alright." Lisa wondered why he had left Mark out. "What about Mark?" Chris and Paul had tears that they had been trying to hold back rolling down their cheeks. "Whats happened to Mark?" Lisa repeated the question she knew something terrible had happened to Mark as she hardly ever saw Paul and Chris cry. Paul answered her question "He didnt pull through, his injurys had been too severe and there was nothing they could do for him. Anyway we better go we'll come back and check on you later." Lisa was shocked. She couldnt believe what she had just heard. She was also wondering if Ben knew what had happened to his best friend. She wondered what he was feeling if he did know. Lisa called a nurse and instructed her to take her in a wheelchair to see Ben. Ben was asleep she leaned over and kissed him and whispered to him I love you. Lisa just watched him sleep. Then Ben awoke and said, "I love you too. Have you heard about Mark?" Yes I Have Lisa replied. Ben said "At least you are ok, you're my world, and everything will be alright I promise you."
